Teaching Practice
Kimberly actively teaches classes and workshops in NYC and around the world.
TECHNIQUE CLASSES
As a former member of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, I work closely with the Merce Cunningham Trust (MCT) to offer in-person technique classes to a wide range of dancers. I teach professional level classes regularly in NYC and have developed a Cunningham Technique program in partnership with Dewitt Clinton High School in Bronx, NY. I also teach Cunningham Technique at the Conservatory Level and was a teaching artist at Bates Dance Festival (2019, 2022) where I hosted my combination technique+chance procedures workshops.
I also work with MCT to facilitate workshops to re-stage Cunningham works with professional artists, both as a MCT Fellow and co-stager. More information on workshops with the Trust can be found here.
WORKSHOP FOR
UNDERGRADUATE SENIORS
Currently, I am the advisor for the BFA seniors in the Ailey-Fordham Program. At Ailey, and other institutions, I offer a senior workshop that helps students identify and articulate a fuller sense of themselves as people and artists so they can articulate what success looks like for them in its many phases. This immersive workshop can be anywhere from 1-4 hours and includes a mix of practical thinking while encouraging soon-to-be graduates to stay connected to dreams and hopes for their futures.

Other commissions include Rutgers, UNCSA, Princeton, University of Buffalo, Arizona State University
