Kimberly Bartosik’s I hunger for you, a two-phase, dual-venue choreographic project for five performers, will be the culmination of her long-term examination into faith, ecstasy, and violence within specific, radical religious practices. This research delves into her experiences of growing up in North Carolina within a family who embraced Born-Again Christianity and Charismatic Rituals. The first phase of I hunger for you, will premiere in fall 2018 at The Lumberyard followed by performances at BAM Next Wave 2018. The project will continue with a second phase, commissioned by New York Live Arts for spring 2019, and developed during NYLA’s Live Feed Residency Program.
